Nebraska Wheat Board announces May budget meeting

The Nebraska Wheat Board (NWB) will hold its next meeting Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Ogallala, 206 Pony Express Lane, Ogallala, NE 69153. The meeting will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MDT. An executive session is tentatively slated for 3:00 p.m.
The meeting will include a first and second-reading of funding proposals and establishment of a budget for fiscal year 2020-2021. It will also include a current fiscal year financial review, reports from NWB board members, contractor reports, and a review of upcoming events and travel.
Depending upon the number of participants, in person attendees may be restricted or rotated to comply with the current State regulations during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Nebraska Wheat Board administers the check-off of 0.4% of net value of wheat marketed in Nebraska at the point of first sale.  The board invests the funds in programs of international and domestic market development and improvement, policy development, research, promotion, and education.
