Nutrition facts
Wheat is part of the grains group on the food pyramid. And if you haven’t revisited the food pyramid lately, there’s no time like the present. The USDA has recently revised what we learned in elementary school. The focus, however, remains on balance, moderation, and variety in food choice.
Adults should consume five to eight servings of grain foods, depending on age and gender. For children, the recommendation is three to seven servings, again depending on age and gender. In addition, it is very important to increase the amount of whole grains in your diet. At least half of the grain foods you eat should be of the whole-grain variety.
